Instituto Bernabeu is the first reproductive medicine center in Europe to receive the quality recognitions SEP International and SEPEFQM
Instituto Bernabeu has received distinctions from SEP International and SEPEFQM.
This is the first time that an international assisted reproduction center has received these recognitions. The Alicante institution has also achieved recertification of the quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
The scope of the external audit, carried out by the prestigious German company TÜV Rheinland, is comprehensive since it covers all services offered by the four IB centers. “It’s a comprehensive audit that endorses the criteria of professional ethics. We audited the clinical rates, data protection law and ethical code, administration, laboratories, sperm bank, all documents and translations, etc.”, explained Elena García, Quality Control Director of IB.
Instituto Bernabeu has had the certification ISO 9001:2008 since 2006, which was broadened this year with the new SEP International accreditation. The EFQM model is a reference for companies of the different European Union countries. It analyzes and considers aspects such as client orientation, coherence, leadership or development and implication of people. The identification and provision of this model to a company means that it is involved in a process of continuous improvement.
Regarding the ISO 9001:2008 certificate, it specifies the requirements that a company must fulfill to implement and follow a quality management system. The SEP model has these requirements and adds other elements in order to “achieve excellent private healthcare in Europe”.
